TSBA Ceremony on 11 March

We look forward to welcoming groups from 10 schools to Latymer Upper tomorrow for the inaugural Trinity Schools Book Award Ceremony! We are delighted to be joined by special guests Paul Dowswell (author of Eleven Eleven), Judith Kerr (author of When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit), Lindy McKinnel (for Robert Westall, author of The Machine Gunners), Bea Ballard (for J. G. Ballard, author of Empire of the Sun) and Elizabeth Wein (author of Code Name Verity). It will be a chance to celebrate both shortlists, as well as the impressive student competition entries on display. The author panel will answer questions from the audience, the competition winners will be announced, and of course the winners of the TSBA 2015 Junior and Senior Awards will finally be revealed…

RGS Guildford official launch meeting!

IMG_1179The first RGS Book Club meeting of the year takes place on 13 October and will be the official launch of our involvement in the new Trinity Schools Book Award.  We will be talking about the books and showingthe website to the boys and staff.  We’re offering these poppy cakes as an added incentive to join us!

Later in the week some English classes will also be visiting the Library; we hope that lots of boys will borrow the shortlisted titles to read over half term and that we will have some reviews posted by the time we return on 4 November.
