The Weight of Water
This work of fiction is easy to read as it is written as a set of poems. At times it feels as if you are reading a stream of consciousness. However, there is shape to this story. It tells of the experience of a Polish girl who has come to settle in England. It provides an insight into how immigrants are treated as well as what it is like to be a teenager and how young people manage acceptance and rejection in their lives. This book is at times funny as well as moving and it will probably only take you one day to read it.
